This is a forty-six year old Dumbarton bottled by Clan Denny. Dumbarton is a grain whisky which means it is with un-malted grain. Although cheaper to make than single malt, when aged sufficiently grain whisky can be simply delicious!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Digestive biscuits, vanilla, milky porridge with warm honey and a touch of baked pear sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Palate: Smooth and supple with creamy latte notes, milk chocolate and caramel.

Finish: The finish is stupefyingly long with spice and apple tart flavours.

Overall: Complex, full bodied and a long finish - this is why grain whisky is great.
