What's in a name? BenRiach 15 Year Old (Tawny Port Cask Finish) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled BenRiach 15 Year Old (Tawny Port Cask Finish) whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Aromatic, port wood notes at the fore developing into a phenolic element, a little bitumen perhaps.
Palate: Sweet and firm, grape and oily smoke, sweetness develops, grapey.
Finish: Oak, smoke and a touch more phenol.
Chaps got the tasting notes correct
Firm = Not so smooth
But overall pretty nice
