This was distilled at the Balblair distillery in June 1990. It was then aged for 20 years in a refill sherry butt before bottling in June 2010 for the Old Malt Cask range from Douglas Laing. A release of 637 bottles at a higher-than-average strength.
Gingerbread, barley malt, manuka honey and baked apples on the nose.
A rich, spicy palate with black pepper, barley grist, stewed fruits and banana.
A long, spiced finish with grist and ginger on the tail.

This is what Mac wants to be - because it is not nearly so overly sherried..... a bit sweet than Mac - let it open up for a while (nothing wrong with air opening for an hour or so) - the 50% ABV won't be bad at all... ;-)
