Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Ardmore 21 Year Old 1990 - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Ardmore 21 Year Old 1990 - Cask Strength Collection (Signatory) whiskey, rather than whisky.
