Kiuchi Brewery

The Kiuchi Brewery was established all the way back in 1823 in the Ibaraki Prefecture of Japan, and they have been brewing sake ever since. However, in 1994, the strict alcohol tax laws in Japan were relaxed, allowing smaller producers to start making beers. This inspired Kiuchi to begin their own foray into craft beer brewing, which resulted in the Hitachino Nest Beer range in 1996. The range began with three beers, but has expanded over the years to include a selection of wonderful brews, including the Hitachino Nest Saison Du Japon, which is made using local wheat and malted rice, a vital ingredient in sake production.
