What's in a name? Tomintoul 17 Year Old 1995 - Single Cask (Master of Malt) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Tomintoul 17 Year Old 1995 - Single Cask (Master of Malt) whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Creamy malt, dried grass, almond and a hint of ginger.
Palate: Soft toffee, saffron buns and butterscotch.
Finish: Warm toast and gentle pepper.
Overall: A delightful and classic Tomintoul, light and delicious.
Impressed! From the nose, you immediately get butterscotch and the palate is pepper and toffee.... i'm usually not good at picking the flavour notes but this beauty is spot on. each flavour, scent is heavily "accented"!
