Insider knowledge: Tomintoul 17 Year Old 1995 - Single Cask (Master of Malt) whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Tomintoul 17 Year Old 1995 - Single Cask (Master of Malt) whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Creamy malt, dried grass, almond and a hint of ginger.
Palate: Soft toffee, saffron buns and butterscotch.
Finish: Warm toast and gentle pepper.
Overall: A delightful and classic Tomintoul, light and delicious.
Impressed! From the nose, you immediately get butterscotch and the palate is pepper and toffee.... i'm usually not good at picking the flavour notes but this beauty is spot on. each flavour, scent is heavily "accented"!
