Whisky or Whiskey

Interesting fact… Tomatin 1988 - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon and MacPhail) whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Tomatin 1988 - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon and MacPhail) whiskey, instead of whisky.

Tomatin 1988 Bottling Note

A 1988 vintage from the Tomatin distillery, matured in refill American hogsheads.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is of medium-body with a good sweetness. There are notes of vanilla cream and crème de cacao. Hints of heather root and toasted oak with all the requisite pepper and winter spice. There are notes of fruitcake and toasty barley sugars and caramel. The palate is full-bodied and punchy. There are notes of winter spice and toasty cereals, stemmy cut hay and notes of chamomile tea. There is a touch of eucalypt oil smoothness. The finish is of medium-length with barley sugar sweetness and a touch of oak.
