Insider knowledge: South Island 21 Year Old 1990 whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from New Zealand. If distilled in America the spelling would be South Island 21 Year Old 1990 whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Rich, toasted oak. Quite tropical too, with a hint of coconut and guava. Floral.
Palate: Spicy, toasted palate. Creamy vanilla and barnyard. Dried grass, allspice. Malt.
Finish: Thick, malty finish. A dusting of spice on the tail.
