The first whisky from Lakes Distillery, a British distillery in Cumbria that are as proud of their picturesque part of England as they are their excellently blended whisky. Both The One whisky and Cumbria are equally beautiful, but only one of them has sweet, spicy notes and a whiff of smoke, so we know which one we'll put in our glasses (it's the whisky, in case you were wondering).

I have tasted some whisky's that cost much more that have been disappointing, The One is quite smooth with a light peat an citrus flavour a tiny amount of water helps the flavour. I purched 3 bottles when I visited the distillery.
I look forward to receiving my first bottle of there malt.

The One in Cumbria
Bought a bottle at the weekend and was so looking forward to sampling it. however my joy turned to despair on tasting. i first tried it neat then tried it with a little water. The One is very overpriced and overrated. At £30 per bottle i was expecting nectar, but only got cold-tea. I certainly won't be buying this distillers malt whiskey when it becomes available.

The One, hits the spot!
I ordered a bottle of The One having heard it was well worth a try. Very pleased I did. Speedy and careful delivery. Thought I'd keep it for Christmas, but it looked so good I tried it early. Very smooth, subtle peaty, smokey flavour. Goes great with water to let the complexity out without too much power. A delight to drink, well crafted blend bodes well for the Cumbrian whiskies to come. These boys know what they are doing. Strongly recommended.
