The nose is rich and pungent. There are thick notes of bitumen and tarry ropes followed by a butyric note, driftwood and Calvados. Salty butter and hot pastries with a coastal character. There are some bruised petal notes and thick oak. Herbal notes and ground almond with an earthen note. The palate is very full and firm. There is a touch of sweetness with a chewy peat and notes of smoke and fennel. There is a refined coastal character with a little toffee and peppery spices.
