Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Mortlach 21 Year Old 1989 - Old Malt Cask (Douglas Laing) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Mortlach 21 Year Old 1989 - Old Malt Cask (Douglas Laing) whiskey, rather than whisky.

Mortlach 21 OMC Bottling Note

This was distilled in March of 1989 and aged for 21 years in refill hogshead number 6126 before bottling in April 2010 as part of a release of 250 bottles of single cask Mortlach.

Mortlach 21 OMC Tasting Note

Nose: Lots of honey and rich biscuity flavour. Big, dry spices and a fragrant perfume of fresh grist and walnut.
Palate: Slowly develops from a sapling of gentle biscuit and toffee, into a mighty oak of brazen spices and butterscotch, caramel and ginger.
Finish: Herbal and grassy with plenty of spice and desiccating oak.
