Nose: Classic Laphroaig sweetness mixed with dry peat. Really smells of the sea, something very coastal, like sea spray and wet stones on a beach. Good peat too, a hint of fruit, and tarry ropes.
Palate: Peat, then a wave of sticking plasters and other medicinal flavours. Tarry, still plenty of sweetness though, and dry wood.
Finish: Asphalt on a hot day, very interesting - if you like your whisky to be tarry and thick you'll love this. Good length too.
