Interesting fact… Old Pulteney Navigator whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Old Pulteney Navigator whiskey, instead of whisky.
Nose: Sweet, succulent apple lashings with dollops of chocolate and vanilla.
Palate: Drips of honey and syrup-y orange.
Finish: A salty finish sneaks up from nowhere, very nice.
Overall: Set sail for tasty single malt!
Personally, I would rank this one higher than the 12y, despite a lack of age statement. I don't know if it's the "hand picked" casks that make the difference here, but this was a surprisingly delicious dram for the price (about $44USD) and I finished the bottle in about 3 days as a result. If you like Old Pulteney 12, definitely give this one a try.
