Old Elgin 8 Bottling Note
An 8 year old blended malt from Speyside. This was bottled by Gordon and MacPhail and named for the city of Elgin where the company is based.
The nose is quite light and sweet. There are notes of crème anglaise and cereal sweetness, there is a hint of dry winter spice and a note of white pepper and gooey toffee. The palate is quite light and spirity with a good sweetness. There are notes of vanilla cream and fudge, a green character. The finish is of good length with plenty of dried fruit.
