What's in a name? Old Elgin 1946 Decanter whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Old Elgin 1946 Decanter whiskey, rather than whisky.
Managed to purchase a 5 cl bottle; shared & finished it off 10/16/2012. A whole new level of scotch. Impossibly smooth. Nose has extreme floral notes, almost rose-like. Complex flavors hinging on vanilla, honey, that linger for a LONG time on the palate, long after the dram goes down. Absolutely NO water needed.
