The nose is refined and elegant. The mocchaccino notes are sublime, notes of wax and wood oils with feinty notes, little forays into herbal territory, returning somehow empty-handed, yet rewarded with absolute bravura. The nuttiness is dark and unctuous and mouth-filling. The palate is thick and full and compacted. Notes of creamy Madeira and stewed fruit, tropical tiki and pre-war Armagnac. The nutty notes return with piquant gusto. The finish is: Instantly gratifying yet it still shows higher, intricate tones.
