What's in a name? Old Perth Number 1 Release whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Old Perth Number 1 Release whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Barley malt and hints of spice. Candy floss and toffee apples.
Palate: Peppery, malty palate with gingerbread and stewed fruit.
Finish: Spiced finish. Medium-long.
Overall: A malty, easy-going dram.
By far the best whisky i have tasted so far. Beyond comparison

I tasted this first release at the whisky fair "the village" in Nürnberg (Germany). All I can say is: Oh my gosh!
It has that strong aroma very much like a Chiva's Regal BUT of course this is at least one league above. It is so smooth and warm, you could almost drink it like lemonade to accompany you on a long evening with a book or a movie or so.
In my opinion, this is one of the best malts unter 50€. I love it.
