Interesting fact… Old Perth Number 1 Release whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Old Perth Number 1 Release whiskey, instead of whisky.
Nose: Barley malt and hints of spice. Candy floss and toffee apples.
Palate: Peppery, malty palate with gingerbread and stewed fruit.
Finish: Spiced finish. Medium-long.
Overall: A malty, easy-going dram.
I tasted this first release at the whisky fair "the village" in Nürnberg (Germany). All I can say is: Oh my gosh!
It has that strong aroma very much like a Chiva's Regal BUT of course this is at least one league above. It is so smooth and warm, you could almost drink it like lemonade to accompany you on a long evening with a book or a movie or so.
In my opinion, this is one of the best malts unter 50€. I love it.
