What's in a name? MacPhail's 1945 whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled MacPhail's 1945 whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Plenty of fruit, of the rich, stewed variety. Sultana, fruit juice, hints of smoke, walnut, fig.
Palate: Spicy and rich, tingling on the palate, lots of puckering bittersweet sherry.
Finish: Fruity and long, full of flavour.
