Whisky or Whiskey
What's in a name? High Commissioner whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled High Commissioner whiskey, rather than whisky.
High Commissioner Bottling Note
High Commissioner is a blend of various malt and grain whiskies. It's actually not that bad, with a pretty decent balance of flavour.

WONDERFUL VALUE FOR MONEY.
decent and affordable
On a Cruise recently we called at Gibralter on the way back to Southampton. The first shop we came to on the way to the centre was selling High Commissioner Whisky for £4.50 a litre.Had to buy a bottle at this price. It's great value and tastes good.

this whisky benefits from a few drops of water, smooths out the wrinkles, takes on a "Teacher's" quality.Certainly not the worst bottle you'll ever have.£17 per litre, who's complaining?

Good, honest Scotch
For the money this has to be a bargain. Not the most subtle of whiskies but does not disappoint.

I had to give it 4 stars for the quality for the price. Its very pleasant and smooth to drink. It is better than many costing more. Its worth a try for the money. I saw it today in Iceland would you believe for £13. Johnny Norfolk.

From time to time I drink blended whiskies (basically if I can't be bothered to go to the more distant shop to get Macallan) and I thought this was really pretty good. It doesn't have the sort of nasty twang after taste of Famous Grouse, not that weird immediate taste of Bells, and the 70cl I bought was only £13. Perfectly reasonably to drink straight.

I was given an almost full litre bottle of this recently as the person that purchased it didn't like it,.
I was expecting it to be a rough, burning type Scotch, but have to say it beats most of the well known blends hands down.
Ok, it's no single malt, but I will definitely buy some when this bottle runs out, which will be sooner rather than later!

A really good smooth whiskey with a pleasant aftertaste. Remarkable for the price. My first choice every time. I only wished that more pubs would stock it.
