Linkwood 1969 Bottling Note
Matured in refill sherry casks, a rare, thick whisky from the Linkwood distillery. This was distilled in 1969 and bottled by Gordon and MacPhail.
The nose is quite malty with soft barley mustiness. Notes of kirsch and a touch of buttery pastry. The palate is full and rich with a lovely smoothness to the mouth feel. Notes of tannic chewy oak with spices and almond oil, a touch of sherry with hints of balsa and creamy vanilla. The finish is long with ground spice and almond and plenty of oak.
