Whisky or Whiskey

Interesting fact… Linkwood 1946 (Gordon and MacPhail) whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Linkwood 1946 (Gordon and MacPhail) whiskey, instead of whisky.

Linkwood 1946 Bottling Note

A sherry matured, 36 year old single malt, distilled in 1946 and bottled by Gordon and MacPhail.

Linkwood 1946 Tasting Note

The nose is full of juicy sultanas and sherry. Hints of wood shavings and pine oil with feinty notes of rubber and leather and a touch of cereal sweetness. The palate is quite full and very smooth with lots of fruit. The oak shines with chewy tannins and a touch of dark nuttiness with mixed peels. The finish is quite long and fruity with a good oak.
