Lemon Grove 1989 - Wemyss Malts (Cragganmore)
A beautiful whisky from Wemyss Malts, this was distilled at the Cragganmore distillery in 1989, and it was then aged in a hogshead before bottling in 2011. A release of 371 bottles. Delicious stuff, ably summed up by the name "Lemon grove"…
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Herbal and creamy with notes of sweet tangy citrus oils, lemon curd and grape must. Honey too, and maple syrup.
Palate
Sweet lemon meringue and candied lemon zest. Black pepper and creamy, thick malt, a little Sauternes too.
Finish
Long and spiced, hints of stem ginger in syrup on the tail.
