Laphroaig 21YO 1990 Bottling Note

This is a smouldering, intense Laphroaig from the Directors Cut range. It was distilled in October 1990 before a 21 year maturation in a single cask (a refill hogshead). It was then bottled in August 2012 and there are just 204 bottles available.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Liquorice root and exotic spices. Hints of biscuity malt. Peppery.

Palate: Rich, malty palate with hints of peat smoke, treacle and grist. Very spicy.

Finish: Smoky, phenolic finish. Oily and coastal

Overall: With a lovely sherry influence, this is a punchy, muscular whisky.
