Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Knockando 12 Year Old whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Knockando 12 Year Old whiskey, rather than whisky.

Knockando 12 Bottling Note

A delicate, sweet 12 year old single malt, unchallenging, yet rather charming. It was because of the Knockando distillery that Knockdhu began bottling their whiskies under the name anCnoc - for they deemed their names too similar and wanted to avoid confusion.

Knockando 12 Tasting Note

The nose is quite gentle and very fragrant. Notes of waxy manuka honey, hints of malty barley and roots with a touch of stemmy cut hay. There is a very supple, chewy peat lying quietly in the background. The palate is quite full with notes of heather roots and damp ...more

Knockando - my very favourite

Rating (5)

Light yet flavoursome. I visited the distillery in the 1980's and was hooked. I've tried many. many others but always come back to Knockando - I love it. Difficult to find, Laphroaig, Balvenie Glenfiddich and more get shelf space at Tesco but Knockando is my favourite and I keep tracking it down.

knockando 12

not being a (regular) scotch drinker, I sampled 5 different single malts one night---this is the only one that made enough of an impression on me that I remembered the name--unfortunately, I can't find it here in Maine--have to settle for Talisker on those damp, cold days (Sherlock Holmes on the tube..) when I actually want a scotch

The Joy of Lifetime

Rating (5)

I fell in love with Knockando when I was a wee lass, and have loved it all my life. Difficult to find on the East Coast of the US, it is nearly impossible to find on the West Coast - but well worth the time and effort of my yearly hunt!

hmm

Caught my eye when one bottle was left at Dan murphy's and it wasnt a common whisky to be find. became the eye opener when i realised it was on a reduced price of 67 AUD, came home opened it up and that honey just hit my nose so well, oh god almost creamy caramel honey with hints of spice here n there, and this weird kind of bitter note which i thought was vegetal, but reading ^ noticed probably its the gingerrr, quite the serendipity this one!!!
