Kilchoman Inaugural Bottling Note

The very first ever release of single malt whisky from the Kilchoman distillery. This Inaugural Release was aged for between 2.5 and 3 years in bourbon casks, before being finished for 6 months in sherry casks. Very good indeed. Malt Advocate rated it with 92 points.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Very spicy and oily. Notes of coal tar, soot and creosote. Shoe polish, blackcurrant, aniseed, sultanas and toffee.

Palate: Rich, oily. Malt, spices, raisins, apple peels, citrus, vanilla sweetness and barrel char.

Finish: Balanced, rich, oily, hints of aniseed, caramel and intense oaky spices.

Incredible!!!!

This 3yo single malt is really incredible. I tried this one last week on Islay. The taste is very complex for such a young Whisky. Since no bottle of this release is available in Europe, I will buy the 5yo vintage release. Congratulation to everybody, who have bottle of the very fine 'Inaugural Release'.
