Insider knowledge: Imperial 17 Year Old 1995 - The Octave (Duncan Taylor) whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Imperial 17 Year Old 1995 - The Octave (Duncan Taylor) whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Vanilla and melting butter, black olives, orange blossom and lemon zest.
Palate: A sweet, lemon-driven palate with tropical fruits, porridge oats with barley malt and cinnamon.
Finish: A spiced, fruity finish.
Just had my sample of the octave (Duncan Taylor) and I can't believe the different flavours that emerge!
