Whisky or Whiskey
What's in a name? Highland Park & Bowmore - Double Barrel (Douglas Laing) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Highland Park & Bowmore - Double Barrel (Douglas Laing) whiskey, rather than whisky.
Highland Park & Bowmore Bottling Note
A blended malt from Douglas Laing, the Double Barrel range is a fantastic selection of blended malt whiskies with some very interesting combinations. This is a blend of Highland Park (known for its heathery, malty and coastal flavours) and Bowmore (a moderately peated, smoky and coastal Islay malt).
An Excellent Dram
Nose: Gentle peat, honey and heather
Palate: Vanilla spice kicks in first followed by the Bowmore smoke
Finish: Decent length, dry finish with a hint of honey
This is an interesting and entertaining whisky. Beautifully balanced.
