Highland Park 13 Bottling Note
A delicious 13 year old Highland Park we bottled in 2010, this was distilled in 1997, and aged in a single refill bourbon hogshead. An run of just 281 incredible bottles, at natural cask strength with nothing added and nothing taken away!
Nose: Sherry comes in on the front of the nose switching to cherry, bakewell tart, peach, almonds & prosciutto.
Palate: Sweet to the front, changes to lemon citrus followed by mild tar & creamy smoke.
Finish: Sublimely long and creamy. Big on tangy fruit...

Summer whisky
Nose: This is summer for me, nice hints of sherry, toffee and caramel. Vanilla flavor, oak and wood. Lots of vapour, maybe a bit strong on the nose, probably because of the high percentage of 57%. Some bitterness but not bad bitterness
Taste: Lots of oak and peat, some citrus, not too thick, not too thin, somewhere in the middle.
Summary: More nose than taste, burnt almond and lots of oak an peat. Great for a summer evening. Love it.
Note: This sample was donated by Master of Malt, thanks!

Summer Whisky - Part 2
I agree with the detailed analysis of the "Summer whisky" review, above, but, while he like it, for me the result is unpleasant. It's all a question of taste, of course, but I would just warn people who like the HP12 and HP18 not to expect this Whisky to resemble the HP12 and HP18.

Almost amazing...
It's the nose that holds this malt back for me, it's not unpleasant just a little nondescript, that said in all other departments it really hits the spot.
For me the taste is sharp and crisp, fresh and lively with a long slightly sweet finish... beautiful... if only the nose...
