Glenrothes 1988

I like Glenrothes in general. Usually very smooth. This is very complex and warm. Age has added to the amount of taste, not reduced as often is the case. A bit too dry and oaky. This might deserve a 5 star rating, but based on personal preference I give it 3.5 /Joakim

I bought a bottle of this and so have loved every drop. I'm going to need to get another bottle or seven because I know that I won't be able to keep this on my shelf for long.

Probably the best whisky I have tried to date. The nose is full of apple and berries and there is just a touch of smoke in the palate - subtle, but enough to give some depth to the flavor. The aftertaste lasts and lasts in a very pleasant way. An excellent whisky and a permanent fixture on my shelf.

I'm a new scotch drinker (under 2 years) so I have limited experience. It's not the most expensive bottle I've purchased, but it is the best whisky I've tasted. Partially because I prefer smooth sweeter scotch, but also because this batch is so damn good. There's no point in reviewing it because the description is dead on. It's silky smooth, complex, delicious from beginning to end, and worth every penny. If you love scotch, you need to own a bottle. Anyone who rates this less than 9/10 has either been ruined forever by drinking too many $500+ bottles, or they just don't like sweet rich whiskys. Buy it, enjoy it, and remember it forever.
