Interesting fact… Glenfarclas 1970 Family Cask whisky spells its name whisky as it originates in Scotland. Had it been produced in America its name would be Glenfarclas 1970 Family Cask whiskey, instead of whisky.
Nose: Rich, spicy. Thick, fruity malt loaf. Toasted cinnamon buns, rum. Stem ginger in syrup. Sherry, pepper.
Palate: Thick, chewy. Sherry. Fruit, ripe and lush. Rum spice. Pepper.
Finish: Spiced rum, heavy, buttery, oak, allspice.
One of the best family casks that I have tried, complex and intense. A must have for those who call themselves farclas enthusiasts and have the wallet to make a 300 pound whisky purchase.
