What's in a name? Glenfarclas 1965 Family Cask Release V whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Glenfarclas 1965 Family Cask Release V whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Spicy, dark sugar, feinty. Soft leather. rubber. Nutty. Potpourri, earthen.
Palate: Rich, spicy. Honey, liquorice, menthol. Muscovado.
Finish: Fresh, crisp, developing oak.
I bought this as a gift for a 70th birthday - it was very well received and I had a little sip too. I ordinarliy do not like whisky but have to confess I could have managed this one. I cannot comment further than that as I am a heathen when it comes to whisky.
