Glenfarclas 1973 Rel VI Bottling Note
The 6th release of Glenfarclas' 1973 Family Cask. This was aged in sherry hogshead number 2567, and it was bottled in 2010, with an outturn of 223 bottles. Glenfarclas describe this one as a great after dinner whisky, to go with your coffee or "instead of that double chocolate coffee cake you were going to have." Or as well as!
Nose: Rich and thick. Really heavy with notes of freshly roasted coffee beans, mixed peels and cocoa. Hints of tomato leaves, apple peel and butterscotch.
Palate: Rich and bittersweet. Huge notes of insanely-high-cocoa dark chocolate, alongside fresh espresso and sherry. Hints of dates, honey, and carrot cake.
Finish: Tangy and intensly rich. A muscular, leathery dram.
