Jim Murray's Whisky Bible
Insider knowledge: Glencadam 30 Year Old 1982 (cask 730) - Limited Edition whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Glencadam 30 Year Old 1982 (cask 730) - Limited Edition whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Fragrant vanilla, heather honey, citrus and toffee notes.
Palate: More creamy toffee, staying on the light side with lifted fragrant notes, apple blossom.
Finish: Long and creamy, hedgerows.
Overall: Wonderfully matured Highland whisky.
Sampled this amazing dram at the Whiskey Experience in Edinburgh in April of 2014. It was mind-blowing. Having just sampled some rather highly smokey selections, the contrast of this ultra creamy Glencadam was so quietly amazing that it just stopped me in my tracks. So many creamy layers and the vanilla was prevalent but not overly forward. Sampled bottle 113 and purchased bottle 50......so pleased I did!
