Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Glen Keith 1996 (Berry Brothers and Rudd) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Glen Keith 1996 (Berry Brothers and Rudd) whiskey, rather than whisky.
