A Glen Grant vintage single malt distilled in 1957 and matured in first fill sherry casks before bottling by Gordon and MacPhail who describe the dram as "a malt for the connoisseur of sherry matured."
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
The nose is quite rich and full with a well-balanced sweetness. There are notes of musty attic with golden syrup and caramelised dark brown sugar. Hints of wood resins and sap, a touch of oily walnut with a good fruitiness. There are some chewy sherried sultanas for mastication. The palate is of good body and quite rich. There are some good sweet barley notes with cut hay and a greenness. Cut herbs emerge with notes of toasted oaken spice and a good peppery notes. The finish is long and quite spicy with a whirling smoke and fino sherry note.
