Glen Grant 1953 G&M Bottling Note
A very well matured 1953 vintage from Glen Grant. This was matured in first fill and refill sherry casks. The bottlers Gordon and MacPhail describe this as being a "big, bold sherried malt".
The nose is big and rich with a well-balanced sweetness. There are notes of orange marmalades and orange juice. Hints of wood resin with unlit Panatela notes. There is a defined cocoa character with malty vanilla notes and eucalyptus oil. The palate is full and rich. There is an abundance of fruit with pulpy orange juice and Poire William liqueur. There are hints of rubber peppermint leaves with a gentle oaken smoke. The finish is long and oaked with citric note.
