Whisky or Whiskey

Insider knowledge: Glen Calder Curling Stone (Gordon and MacPhail) whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Glen Calder Curling Stone (Gordon and MacPhail) whiskey, as opposed to whisky.

Glen Calder Curling Stone Bottling Note

Glen Calder is a blend produced by Gordon and MacPhail. Rather than a traditional bottle, the producers have gone one further and bottled this in a curling stone. It was always going to happen one day. Other curling equipment used in the sport include a curling broom, curling gloves and 'curling pants' which are worn to "accommodate the curling delivery".

Glen Calder Curling Stone Tasting Note

The nose is soft and gentle. There are notes of toffee and malted barley with a spirity note. The palate is smooth and light. There is plenty of sweetness with toffee and spice, the oak builds with dryness. The finish is short and quite dry and spirity.
