Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Ginger Treacle 1991 (Wemyss Malts) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Ginger Treacle 1991 (Wemyss Malts) whiskey, rather than whisky.

Ginger Treacle 1991 Bottling Note

A single cask bottling of Glen Elgin from Wemyss. Bottled in April 2009 at 46%. Each individual cask is named according to its flavours and aromas, and this one produced 335 bottles. The malts are not chill-filtered and no colour is added.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Great toffee flavour, balanced by leather and shot through with spicy cloves. It fills out with jammy notes.

Palate: The palate suggests dried fruit including prunes, raisins and sultanas. There are more spices here too, including cardamom.

Finish: Fairly short and sweet with lasting jammy spice.

Overall: This is a sweet and mouth filling dram best enjoyed without water.
