Scotch Single Malt - Deluxe Blend - 2013
International Wine & Spirit Competition
Insider knowledge: Cutty Sark 12 Year Old whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Cutty Sark 12 Year Old whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Nose: Light, balanced. Salty character, buttery. Seville marmalade. Cut hay, pear drops.
Palate: Gentle, vanilla, touch of tropical fruit, perfume note, citrus.
Finish: Good length, dried seaweed, sweetness, oak.
Extremely well balanced whisky, in which the 12 years really do the trick. Light and elegant, with a touch of honey in it. Definitely recommandable in this prize range.
