Croftengea Cask 18 Bottling Note
A peated single malt from Loch Lomond, matured in American oak casks, just 386 bottles were released. This was bottled under the Croftengea name, from a select cask (number 18), distilled in 1997.
The nose is peppy and of medium-body. There are notes of ash and wood smoke, hints of coal and barley sugars. There are juicy cereals with dried oak and cut hay. The palate is of medium body. There is a thick ashen note with wood smoke and tannic, chewy oak. Notes of black pepper and acacia honey with dried fruits and stemmy cut hay. The finish is of good length with peppered warmth and dry wood smoke.
