The Cardhu Special Cask Reserve features whisky taken from "very old oak casks", presented in their classic, handsome bottle. Top Speyside whisky from a long-standing distillery. Bottled in batches (which may not match the one in the image - for more info get in touch).
If you do not like smokey whiskey, this is the best. But they are not to make it anymore, WHY ? I would by crates of it if i could, now i have to keep the 2 bottles i have left as a reminder of the best.
Sampled scotches at 2 other noted distilleries then tasted 6 of Cardhu's best. Special reserve cask Cs/cR.13.15 was noy being sampled as the word got out and they were running low. Tried it up against their 18 year old and Gold reserve and it stood head and shoulddrs above the rest. GET IT BEFORE ITS GONE. One of the best examples of Cardhu's zubtle honeys and pear on the nose. Treads on the tongue like agels feets and fills the mouth. Great balance and presence a the way down. Among the best I have ever tasted. Long but su tle finish. Others on the tour had the same experience and 7 were snapped up that day. The ratively inexpensive cost makes it an even more surprising delight.
My current Affordable best whiskey. Every time its nice and smooth, with no bitey, stingy attack.
