Nose: Carbolic, mineral nose with a pronounced garage floor element.
Palate: An oily feel that really coats the mouth, but this is matched by a surprisingly light sweetness that balances the obvious peaty notes.
Finish: The sweetness lingers and there is a lot here. Lavender honey notes and more wonderful carbolic.
Overall: A sophisticated old Islay, that boats arresting complexity that transcends the smoke.
