Nose: Butterscotch and peat, blown through with sea air with a slight medicinal tinge.
Palate: Sweet and powerful before a sprinkling of white pepper, sea salt and peat takeover.
Finish: Lengthy and dry, the smokiness fades to leave pine forests and seaweed. A very good Caol Ila, definitely one to try if you are a fan of this quirky Isla distillery.
