Nose: Pineapple, mango and star fruit form a tropical nose that contrasts nicely to the earthy, peaty, coastal Bunnahabhain lurking beneath.
Palate: Fairly sweet with barley sugar, tropical fruits then a burst of Islay peat.
Finish: The finish is much more citrus focussed and leathery with that peatiness remaining as a wisp in the background.
Overall: This Bunnahabhain is a refreshingly tropical Islay malt whisky whilst still maintaining an earthy salty character underneath.
