Bunnahabhain Dun Bheagan Bottling Note

A 13 year old Bunnahabhain from Ian MacLeod's Dun Bheagan. Unusually for Bunnahabhain, this was distilled from peated malt. It was then filled into three hogsheads (5459, 5461 and 5462) and was bottled in 2011. A release of 1,136 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Nutty with toasted porridge oats, vanilla, rosemary, a sweet, soft peat smoke appears, along with calvados and nutmeg.

Palate: Rich, good body with sweet fruit and barley, pepper, a little meaty smokiness, with mixed peels and ginger.

Finish Long, quite sweet, spicy and peaty.

Oh boy

I have been gifted a bottle by a very good friend and am feeling very loved. Its a very round, warm tasting malt. it made me think of cold nights infront of the log burner; back home in the UK. Auckland is such a warm place on Autumn; and you wouldnt associate whiskey drinking with warm places back home. However late at might when I want a really good nightcap; this is the very chap.
