Insider knowledge: Bruichladdich - The Laddie 16 Year Old whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Bruichladdich - The Laddie 16 Year Old whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
Sweet and waxy with firm notes of vanilla and a biscuity quality on the palate that leads to a distinct nuttiness.

This like all Bruichs is an endangered species. Unpeated, with notes of honey and matured bourbon cask. One of the best I've had. If you can find this, buy it.

By far the best of the new age statements by the Laddie team. And a steal here. You pay nearer £60 in most places including at the distillery! A very welcome addition to the whisky shelves.
