What's in a name? Bruichladdich - The Laddie 16 Year Old whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Bruichladdich - The Laddie 16 Year Old whiskey, rather than whisky.
Sweet and waxy with firm notes of vanilla and a biscuity quality on the palate that leads to a distinct nuttiness.
and discontinued? sad times

This is true, I went to a bruichladdich tasting evening and bought this issue up with their brand ambassador. This Whisky inside is indeed much older.

By far the best of the new age statements by the Laddie team. And a steal here. You pay nearer £60 in most places including at the distillery! A very welcome addition to the whisky shelves.
