Bruichladdich Octomore Bottling Note

The now very rare first release of Bruichladdich’s Octomore. When it was released it was the world’s peatiest whisky, with phenol levels of 131ppm. This has since been eclipsed by the astonishing peaty punch of the second edition, but this will remain the original!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Rich, punchy. Wood smoke, tarry ropes. Pipe tobacco, glowing embers. Smoked meats, seaweed, aniseed.

Palate: Smoke. Spiced, peppery oak. Coastal. Good peat, under0ripe fruit.

Finish: Peaty, long finish, oily, coastal.
