What's in a name? Bruichladdich First Growth Cuvée A: Pauillac (Chateau Lafite) 16 Year Old whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Bruichladdich First Growth Cuvée A: Pauillac (Chateau Lafite) 16 Year Old whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Balanced, refined smoke. Oak, summer berries. Peppery, eucalyptus, herbal, tarry.
Palate: Full and firm. Dark fruit, morello cherry, rubbery dryness, herbal.
Finish: Long, supple, oaky dryness.
One of my favorite malts...smooth and elegant. There is a richness to this whisky unlike any other. It is complex with a multi-layer finish. Don't ruin this dram by adding water. It has rich honey/vanilla nose with stone fruit. Its mouth feel is full and viscous with dark cherry/cocoa notes. Simply a delicious dram...
