What's in a name? Bruichladdich 1984 whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Bruichladdich 1984 whiskey, rather than whisky.
Nose: Fresh, leafy. Allspice, vanilla, soft toffee, coastal.
Palate: Soft sweetness, touch of dry oak, vanilla spice, peppery, cocoa.
Finish: Spicy, a little astringent fruit, peppery, vanilla.
This is the sort of whiskey that makes one want to earn more money. Bruichladdich 1984 is smooth, subtle and has a terrific finish without being overwhelmed by peat.
