Whisky or Whiskey

What's in a name? Braes of Glenlivet 1975 - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon and MacPhail) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Braes of Glenlivet 1975 - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon and MacPhail) whiskey, rather than whisky.

Braes of Glenlivet 1975 Bottling Note

A 1975 vintage from the now recently reopened Braeval distillery. This is a rarer bottling under the original 'Braes of Glenlivet' name, the Glenlivet suffix was dropped in 1994.

Braes of Glenlivet 1975 Tasting Note

The nose is quite fragrant with a little barley and hay. Delicate flowers and orange with flourishes of heather roots. The palate is dry and quite light. Toasty oak spices and sugared barley with a hint of almond sweetness. A little vanilla spice develops. The finish is of medium length with lots of cereal and malted barley and sugared mix peel.
